Finally, after months and months of restless wait, I got the X100. I have done quite some testings on different shooting situation from macro to mixed lights. I will write what I found a bit later. For now, here are the sample photos. The photos below are straight from the camera JPEG sRGB profile, not edited in any way. I used mostly Auto WB. ISO ranges from 100(L) up to 1600. I will do the high ISO test later. I also did some black and white conversion on the camera, mostly with “Monochrome + Red filter” setting on the camera. On the color photos, I used mainly Fuji Astia film emulation for softer overall look. I will post more photos later. I also plan to do some studio testing (still not sure if my Pocketwizards will work on this thing).
The photos below link to the original (12MP JPEG) files. All EXIF data are still intact for you to see the tech info yourself. Please, again please, only download the original photos if you want to see them. Otherwise, kindly help us to save bandwidth
Thank you!
NOW, this is what truly excites me! I just realized that the X100 uses leaf shutter system, which enables highspeed flash sync. So I ran a quick test in my studio with studio strobe (GN about 80). I worked my way from 1/125, all the way to 1/4000 !!! And yes, it would sync even at 1/4000! This last photo I used 1/4000, f/2, ISO 800, ND Filter = on, Astia. Remarkable
Enjoy…
